Christmas spirit

Today, Henry's Christmas "project" was to make a Santa face (aka paper plate, red construction paper, and cotton balls - seriously, you can do soooooo many kids' Christmas activities with cotton balls).  I busted him talking (exchanging "Ho Ho Ho's") with Santa quite a few times - a picture of him on Santa's lap when he was 6 months old (by the way, Lisa, Henry said that the baby in this picture is baby Owen, certainly not Henry - "I no go sit on Santa.")

Who doesn't love watching the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree lighting?

After watching the Christmas Tree lighting, I tried to recreate my own :)

You can tell that we've had our Christmas music on non-stop around here - I heard Henry saying "Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow" when he was playing today!  His top Christmas song requests for me to sing - "Jingle Bells" and "Rudolph Reindeer nose song."

Thanksgiving weekend in review

Grandma & Grandpa came down for the weekend to celebrate Thanksgiving with us.  After our Thanksgiving night snow we got, Grandma brought Henry his very own shovel, so he got to bust it out and shovel off the deck.  The boy does love helping with a good project!

On Sunday night, we went out for Punch Pizza (oh, how I do love the Punch Salad, probably my favorite salad ever) and then to the Holidazzle Parade downtown.  It was a balmy 30ish degrees and a little windy, but we bundled up.  I'm tellin' ya, Sunday night is the way to do it - we got there just a few minutes before it started, and got a front row view!

Here he is, the big man himself, the finale float in the parade!

We've slowly been decorating for Christmas this weekend, as well.  Henry really was a good helper, pointing out exactly where each ornament should go.  My favorite is when he talks about the garland that we hung up, or "pretty garlic" as he calls it.  Yes, he's wearing a Vikings jersey and Elmo pajamas here, and what a struggle it was to get him out of this outfit!

Happy Thanksgiving

HERE IT IS.....THE NEW BLOG!
Blogger can't stop me!

What an absolutely beautiful Thanksgiving morning we had this year!  It was 54 degrees outside at 8am when we started our Turkey Day 5K downtown - us and 16,500 of our closest friends, that is!  Henry saddled up in the jogger and went on the run with us this year.
Here we are at the start, one big sea of orange (I'm loving our orange shirts this year, by the way).

5K later.....the finish

After our run, we headed over to Oma & Opa's house for quite the Thanksgiving feast.  What turkey day could be complete without a turkey project, right?

As the day went on, it got colder and colder and colder.  From sun, to rain, and then to snow - checking out those flakes here.

Henry really does love that Old Papa (and, of course, Old Papa's fuzzy elk at his house)!

On our way home that night, we noticed the "Griswold house" a few blocks away from our house was all lit up already, yay!
